Three hours of lecture and 1-hour of discussion per week. This course examines how concepts and theories of "development" have been produced, maintained, used, and challenged in different regions of the world. It will offer a framework for understanding how changing and contending theories both reflect and shape social processes and practices. Also listed as Development Studies C100.
