Atlan is Barlow's Province 17. It is shown on page 27 of the Matrícula and on folio 53 (recto) of the Codex Mendoza. According to Barlow the province's two towns were garrison towns.The following maps and table are all from Barlow (1949).

    Barlow's map of the Province. Atlan is located in the northernmost part of the Sate of Puebla. The river that flows to the north is a tributary of the Rio Tuchpan.
