Cuauhnahuac is Barlow's Province 22. It is described in the Matricula on page 4 and in the Codex Mendoza on folio 23 (recto) and 23 (verso).The following maps and table are all from Barlow (1949).

    Barlow's map of the Province. This province largely coincides with the western half of the modern state of Morelos. Note that in the table below Barlow corrects the Mendecino name "Chimalco" to "Panchimalco". The glyph for this pueblo includes a banner (pantli).
