Morphology, Distribution, and Habitat (After Mason, 1957)

The perigynia is 3.5-4.5 millimeters long, strongly convex dorsally, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, narrowly green-margined, serrulate above the middle, and the beak is normally half as long as the body. The plant is found on boggy ground on slopes or in low, wet meadows. Its distribution is in Coast Ranges from Santa Clara County north to Del Norte, Trinity, and Siskiyou counties. It is also found in the Sierra Nevada foothills from Mariposa County north to El Dorado County.
