My current research explores the politics of small-scale tin mining (known as cooperative mining) near the city of Oruro, Bolivia. Working at the intersection of postcolonial theory, political economy, and race critical theory, I consider the growth of small-scale mining in relation to questions of plurinationalism and indigeneity. My research has been supported by a Berkeley Fellowship, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada, the Social Sciences Research Council (SSRC), and the Trudeau Foundation of Canada.
