My dissertation research is primarily concerned with the study of indigenous peoples, indigeneity and indigenismo in Latin America and Mexico, Wixárika migrations to cities in western Mexico, and the intersection of political economy, identity politics and geography. Aside from my studies I co-run an art space/gallery in west Berkeley called Pueblo Nuevo and am the secretary on the board of directors of the Wixárika Research Center.
