Green schist on the slopes of Red Mountain. We go up and over this little ridge of rock to avoid an icefall on the glacier. This is a good view of the terminus of the Llewelyn. It is flowing from right to left. It ends in a proglacial lake which then flows into a river which flows into Atlin Lake. I am deceptively high above the glacier still, I would estimate my elevation as a few hundred meters above the edge of the glacier directly below me. Also note the trim lines on the mountains across the valley (zone of bare rock where the glacier scoured the bedrock during the Little Ice Age).
