May 6, 2026

Adam Hasan was nominated by three separate peers and colleagues for the Graduate Student Service Award. Their nominations painted a picture of a student who is not only a brilliant scholar but a foundational pillar of our departmental community. Adam’s impact is felt across every level of the department:

  • Community Building: From the friendly competition of the annual March Madness bracket to the coordination of high-profile colloquiums, he consistently bridges the gap between students, faculty, and staff.

  • Mentorship & Advocacy: He is a dedicated mentor to first-year students and a supportive guide for undergraduates. Beyond individual mentorship, his leadership in student organizing and the establishment of new reading groups has been pivotal for our collective growth.

  • Culture of Integrity: Whether he is asking insightful questions in a seminar or offering a supportive word in the hallway, Adam’s generosity has helped foster a more inclusive and compassionate environment for us all.

Adam embodies the spirit of a leader in both brilliance and deep empathy. We are fortunate to have him in the department. Congratulations, Adam!
