For Geography senior Christina Maria Carasis, research is deeply personal. Drawing on her family’s Greek-Arvanite heritage and the mapping skills she developed at Berkeley, Christina is researching Arvanitika, an endangered language in Greece. Through community-based fieldwork in Argolida, she is mapping the stories, relationships, and connections between villages where the language has survived—and creating a resource that communities can use to share and preserve their history and culture.
