In a new article from UC Berkeley’s Social Sciences Division, Geography faculty member Clancy Wilmott joins colleagues across campus to discuss the opportunities and challenges posed by generative AI tools in research and teaching. For Wilmott, AI has a "heavy bias" toward statistical thinking, and it's essential for educators to prioritize teaching skills AI can't replicate: critical thinking, deep reading and original analysis.
