John Cramblitt

I'm a first-year Ph.D. student in John Chiang's climate dynamics group, where I study natural variability and human-driven change in Earth's climate system. I'm especially interested in tropical ocean-atmosphere interactions, precipitation mechanisms and their sensitivity to change, and using simple models as tools to study coupled climate processes. My broader goal is to advance our understanding of climate to improve predictions over short and long scales, and ultimately inform adaptation to change.

Outside of research, I enjoy cooking, time by the water or in the mountains, and printmaking.
