This spring, the United Nations Academic Impact and MCN launched the Millennium Fellowship. This program convenes, challenges, and celebrates bold student leadership advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on campus and in communities. 44,000+ students applied on 3,000+ campuses on more than 119 nations, and just 260+ campuses (9%) were selected based on the caliber of applicants to host the program this year. I am thrilled to share that Geography undergraduate, Alexander Brown, has been selected as a member of the Class of 2023!
Alex's research focuses on ice reservoirs and the potential to divert increased alpine runoff to create ice reservoirs. The goal of these reservoirs is to recultivate agricultural land in arid alpine regions which has been impacted by increased glacial melt runoff, a strategy based on indigenous methods.
Congrats, Alex!
