Congrats to Jacqueline Canchola-Martinez, Geography and Conservation & Resource Studies double major, for being chosen as the American Cultures Summer 2023 Collaborative Research Fellow! Jacqueline will work with Restorative Media in an ongoing project with students in several of Dr. Seth Lunine's courses.
From Jacqueline: "I was excited to take part in this research after taking GEOG 72AC, The Bay Area, and GEOG 181, Urban Field Study, with Dr. Lunine. Urban Field Study was where I first learned about Restorative Media through their Formerly Incarcerated Speaker Series at Alcatraz. We’ve been working together to think about representation, media, prisons, and inmate media production and to curate literature for Troy Williams, Executive Director of Restorative Media. It’s truly been a pleasure and a refreshing look into what research can be. Endless thank you to Seth, Troy, and the American Cultures Center."
