The Department of Geography invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor with expertise in pertinent subject areas, including but not limited to Pacific Islander studies, Asian diasporas, migration, capitalism, histories of imperialism, labor, social movements, immigration, and environmental change. The successful candidate will enrich the intellectual diversity of the department and fortify its capacity to engage with and contribute to crucial discussions on social, political, and economic disparities, and the multifaceted aspects of race and ethnicity within Asian American and/or Pacific Islander communities. The selected candidate will serve as the senior “anchor” position in the cross-campus Asian American and Pacific Islander Transpacific Futures Cluster. As such the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting UC Berkeley’s ability to actively open new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and meaningful engagement with contemporary issues relevant to Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
