Biography

My research examines the impact of restoration and management actions on hydrological systems in aquatic ecosystems. My dissertation explicitly examines these impacts across multiple scales, from predicting the fate of sediment particles within patches of water bodies, to modeling changes within a reach after the installation of small modular hydropower (SMH) facilities, to synthesizing previous restoration literature to analyze changes to residence time across different watersheds.

Prior to starting my PhD program, I worked as a lecturer and in several student services positions at San Francisco State University, and I remain committed to supporting students in higher education. I’m especially interested in improving accessibility for all students (both inside and outside of the classroom), and advancing pedagogical approaches in the earth sciences.
